EMPI engineers have painstakingly recreated the no longer available heavy-duty OE Thing Spindle for use in off-road applications requiring extra ground clearance. With its 3” raised configuration, these all-new forged spindles are ready for your Baja, Buggy, or Class 11 build!
3D scanning and CAD engineering ensure exact dimensions and a 3” lift for a direct replacement of original Type 181 spindles used on the 1973-1974 Thing.
Why waste hours on eBay searching for used parts or one-offs, when you can build with brand-new components for longevity and peace of mind?
Extensive testing on the Mojave Trail confirms these spindles will handle all the abuse you can throw at them.
Constructed of Hot Forged 5140 medium carbon steel.
SCORE approved for Class 11 competition.
Thing spindles are compatible with Type 1 Ball Joint beams. They will require the use of EMPI Trailing Arm Set with Heavy Duty Ball Joints installed 98-4558-0.
If you are seeking increased stopping power versus original Thing front drum brakes, these spindles are compatible with EMPI disc brake conversion kit 22-2895-0

RETURNS
We happily accept returns or exchanges as long as the merchandise is in NEW condition (never been installed/mounted), complete with all original packaging, accompanied by a Return Authorization and back in our warehouse within 30 days of receiving.
- We are unable to accept returns on electrical parts, floor pans, windshields, transmissions & engines.
- Orders over $400 are subject to a 10% restocking fee
- Returns sent back without a pre-approved RA# will be refused.
